Quantum Systems Names A $1.2 Billion Series D

Quantum Systems has raised $1.2 billion in a Series D round, giving the German autonomous-defense company an $8 billion post-money valuation.

The company said Blackstone, Noteus, Airbus and Advent co-led the round.

Bond, Fidelity Management and Research Company, Balderton and HV Capital also participated.

Quantum Systems is developing unmanned systems for land, air and sea.

Co-CEO and co-founder Florian Seibel said autonomous systems that operate together across domains will define defence, and the company said the new capital will expand production capacity, strengthen supply chains, scale delivery across allied markets and fund software and AI work.

Dealroom Data Puts Defense-Tech Funding At $17.4 Billion

According to Dealroom data, defence-tech fundraising has reached $17.4 billion so far this year, above the $11.2 billion raised by the sector in 2025.

The same funding context shows how large rounds have moved from conventional venture scale to infrastructure-style capital.

Anduril's May financing was $5 billion.

March rounds included $1.8 billion for Saronic Technologies and $2 billion for Shield AI.

European defence autonomy is also attracting larger rounds.

A Financial Times item put Helsing's planned raise at $1.2 billion and its valuation at $18 billion.

Ukraine Missions Give The Round Deployment Evidence

Quantum Systems said its systems were deployed in Ukraine and executed more than 19,000 missions in the country in 2025.

The company has expanded production across Germany, Ukraine, the United States, Australia, Romania, the United Kingdom and the Baltics.

The disclosed production footprint covers seven markets alongside the new software and AI investment plan.

Blackstone senior managing director David Kaden said a structural shift in the European defence market has created demand for capital to support development of the sector and adoption of advanced technologies.

Customer And Delivery Details Remain Undisclosed

The disclosed use of proceeds is broad: production capacity, supply-chain resilience, allied-market delivery and investment in software and AI capabilities.

Quantum Systems did not name specific government customers for the new round, order volumes, country-by-country delivery schedules, revenue figures or the share of the $1.2 billion assigned to AI software work.
