B Capital’s Doha office is adding AI infrastructure governance experience to its investment team, with Middle East AI News reporting on July 24, 2026 that former G42 Chief AI Officer Dr Andrew Jackson has joined the firm as General Partner and Chief AI Officer.

The appointment gives the multi-stage investment firm a senior AI operator in Qatar after Jackson oversaw governance work connected to Stargate UAE.The B Capital manages more than $8 billion in assets, and the new role covers investment, portfolio management, operations and technology leadership for AI-driven businesses the firm incubates, according to Arabic-first open-source AI models in the MENA region.

Jackson also helped.

Doha Role Covers Investment And Portfolio Operations

Jackson is based at B Capital’s office in The Pearl, Doha.

The role is not limited to sourcing AI deals: the mandate runs across investment strategy, diligence, portfolio support and internal operations, which puts AI oversight inside both the firm’s capital allocation process and its company-building work.

The Qatar office began operating in 2025 as B Capital widened its international footprint, and the firm has plans to work with Qatar Investment Authority.

Placing Jackson in Doha links the AI strategy role to the same Gulf office that B Capital is using for its regional expansion.

G42 Background Includes Stargate UAE Governance

Jackson moves from Abu Dhabi-based G42, after holding its Chief AI Officer post and taking part in OpenAI-linked country-specific AI strategy for the UAE.

His most recent G42 work put governance duties around Stargate UAE, which sits within a UAE-US AI infrastructure programme whose disclosed scale is 5 Gigawatt.

The investment role now puts that operating history into a venture-capital process.

Model capability, infrastructure readiness, governance controls and founder execution all become part of the diligence problem before money is committed.

The public material presents Stargate UAE governance as part of Jackson’s operating background, not as a named B Capital investment thesis.

Arabic AI Models And Responsible AI Add Context

Before the group-level G42 role, Jackson led Inception, now Inception42, the G42-owned lab behind Jais in 2023.

Middle East AI News linked the model work to Mohammed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence and Cerebras, while presenting it as part of Jackson’s Abu Dhabi AI record.

The career record gives B Capital more than one AI reference point.

Jackson also helped create the Responsible AI Future Foundation with Microsoft backing.

Earlier roles involved Palantir’s Middle East expansion, Etihad Airways data analytics and electronic trading systems at Susquehanna International Group in Dublin, connecting government-facing AI programmes, airline data operations and financial-market software to the same appointment.

B Capital co-founder and co-CEO Raj Ganguly framed Jackson’s background as both technical and operating experience for finding opportunities and supporting portfolio companies.
